The effects of whole-body vibration on muscle parameters, biomechanical and metabolic factors in diabetic sarcopenia patients: Study protocol of a randomized controlled clinical trial
Sarcopenia, characterized by a reduction in muscle mass and strength can coexist with type Ⅱ diabetes. Effective physical therapy strategies are essential for improving the muscle strength and quality of life in sarcopenic and diabetic patients. Whole Body Vibration (WBV) has emerged as a promising physical therapy intervention with potential benefits for muscle strength, balance, and blood biomarkers. Based on the beneficial effects of WBV on people with sarcopenia and on diabetic patients, it seems that WBV also can be useful in people with diabetic sarcopenia. This study aims to evaluate the effects of WBV on muscle parameters, biomechanical and metabolic factors in older adults with diabetic sarcopenia through a randomized controlled trial.
